Excerpt from ClubTread article by Justin Brown

I've had the pleasure of being involved in the re-opening of this fine historic route which was used by the Hudson's Bay Brigades over a century and a half ago. The official opening of the trail was celebrated by all involved at the end of this past summer and a campsite was built by a large group of volunteers at both the Peers Creek Trailhead near Hope and also the Sowaqua Creek Trailhead.

Last spring I was contacted by the Hope Mountain Center, and asked if I could help in making and installing various trail signs, as well as the construction of 2 new outhouses and benches around the fire rings at both campsites. The trail signs themselves were made from recycled cedar from old BC Parks picnic table planks.

Before this year I had always overlooked this trail, but after hiking it several times now since spring, I am convinced it is a great re-addition to a growing network of trails around Hope. Here are a few pics from the various stages of the work this past spring.
